James Zamorski

James Zamorski was awarded a scholarship in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program. Originally from New Jersey, he completed the NROTC curriculum at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in May 1976. At graduation, he received his commission as an Officer in the United States Navy. His Navy Service included both afloat and ashore assignments as Communications Officer; Electronic Warfare Officer; Intelligence Officer; and Area Requirements Officer. He served aboard USS Thomas C. Hart (FF 1092) and USS Arkansas (CGN 41); at Naval Communications Area Master Station Atlantic, Norfolk, VA; and as a Staff Action Officer for U.S. Atlantic Fleet and U.S. Atlantic Command. He was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and two Navy Achievement Medals. He was designated as a Surface Warfare Officer; and Officer of the Deck (Underway). When retired from active duty, he continued serving his country and the Navy for another 26 years as a contractor with various commercial companies specializing in satellite communications. He is retired. He is also a life member of the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
