Inducted into US Army 18 days after graduating UW in 1968. Served at Ft. Sheridan, IL and Long Binh, Vietnam. I was an Army musician. After service, law degree at University of Chicago. Practiced law for 10 years, then spent 18 years on the business side in marketing and product development. Returned to law practice in 2002 with Kirkland & Ellis. Retired in 2021 to start a legal technology business.
