United States Air Force
After graduating from UW-Madison with a degree in Atmospheric Science in 1992, I commissioned as an officer in the US Air Force through the AFROTC program. I served in various operational weather and staff assignments at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota, Offutt AFB, Nebraska, Heidelberg, Germany, and Langley AFB, Virginia. I deployed on contingency deployments to Hungary, Iraq, and Afghanistan (twice). My final assignment was as an academic instructor and Commandant of Cadets back at my alma mater AFROTC detachment at UW-Madison. Upon retirement in 2012, I continued to work at UW-Madison in the College of Engineering, first as an academic advisor and now as Department Administrator for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
