Jake Baggott

I enlisted in the Army in the Spring of 1982 following HS graduation and spent two years on active duty, stationed state-side for most of that time at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. I enlisted for educational benefits, but continued my military service in the Illinois National Guard in the Fall 1984 and spent the next 20 years in the 133d Signal Battalion culminating my services at the First Sergeant for Company B, 133d Signal Battalion in 2003 when I retired. My father was an Army veteran and two of my siblings also served in the Army. My sister, Sara also retired as a company First Sergeant in the same Battalion where I served. I began my civilian career at Southern Illinois University in college health in 1985 and have worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama before coming to the University of Wisconsin Madison to serve as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Executive Director of University Health Services. While at UAB, University Veterans Services reported to my position as Assistant Vice President..
